Ok, so did anyone else notice that the music they played after McCain's concession speech was the music from Crimson Tide? I found this weird at first, but then I realized there's some interesting symbolism in that choice.

In the first scene where that music plays clearly, the crew of the boat yells out a chant:
"GO 'BAMA -- ROLL TIDE"

Also that the movie is about a young black guy stealing command from an old white dude, but whatever.

I was rather amused by that choice of music. :)

Hah - yep. I noticed that it was "Roll Tide" as well and Googled to see if anyone else was talking about it. Sure enough it came up and now I'm here!

Is that actually on purpose?

I'm picturing Random Campaign Guy Who Gets to Pick the Music, giggling to himself and going "That would be hilarious! Wait... I actually have the power to make that happen... Eehehehe." And presenting it to McCain like "Here's the music we're going with. It's militaristic but kind of melancholy, and reminds me of being tired but still strong after a long battle," and McCain going "Ok, sounds good" on his way to an important meeting.

But maybe McCain is way funnier than I give him credit for.

Is there a clip available of this music anywheres? I'd love to see it. Knowing lots of people from Alabama (or who went to school there), I'm really curious!
